Two Store Concepts
Terra Organica was established in 1997 as one of North America’s first all-organic health food stores. Our mission was (and continues to be) to “do the research” for our customers - only selling the purest products produced with the most ethical standards.
In 2003 we opened a second concept store, Bargainica, with the mission of selling natural and organic foods at discount prices.
In 2005 we moved both stores to the Bellingham Public Market.

Here is a quick overview of some features of this website, and some tips for finding what you are searching for:
RECIPES - By far the most popular feature on this website is the recipe section. If you have a certain dish you want to make or ingredient you want to use, the easiest thing is to use the “search site” function in the upper left corner above. Choose “healthy recipes” form the drop-down menu, enter the food item or dish in the blank, and click “GO.” There are hundreds of kitchen-tested recipes in the database, and more are being added all the time.
PRODUCT FINDER – This feature is in the upper right-hand corner above. IMPORTANT NOTE: This is by no means a complete listing of the items we carry - we stock literally thousands of products that are not included here. Items in this section are available in Terra Organica. Since the product selection in Bargainica is constantly changing, we do not list those products in this section. If you are looking for an item that is not listed, please call us.
NEWS AND FEATURES – This tab on the left hand side will open a page containing the latest health news as well as interesting feature articles. The content here is updated every business day, so you can come back often if you are interested in keeping up on these fascinating topics.
FIND A PRACTITIONER – We are in the process of creating a list of holistic healthcare professionals in Whatcom and Skagit counties. There are some practitioners listed here now, and more to come. (This is taking us much longer than we thought, so please be patient with us.) If you have a practice and would like to be listed, please use the “contact us” feature of this website and we will email you the pertinent information so you can appear here too!
LINKS & VIDEOS – On this page you will find links to our favorite non-commercial websites. We have also embedded some of most creative, inspiring, and thought-provoking videos to be found on the internet. The websites and videos cover topics such as nutrition, health and healing, sustainable agriculture, consumerism, ecology, and human rights.
OTHER TABS – We have worked to make all the sections of this website as relevant and engaging as possible. We think you’ll find useful and interesting information when you click on any of the green tabs. We hope you’ll explore this website, and come back often to see what we’ve added.
NEWSLETTER - We hope you will sign up for our email newsletter (see form below). We produced a well-loved newsletter for many years and plan on re-introducing it again sometime this year. We have some other projects to finish up first, so it may be a while before we send out a new one, but when you do we think you will find it informative and entertaining. This is no “form” newsletter – we produce our own content, ignore the latest health fads (unless we are poking fun at them or we actually think they are valid) and we rebel against conventional newsletter marketing wisdom. In other words, we write a heck of a good newsletter and make it really fun to read.
